Personnel Due Diligence, in detail.

More on how each part of Clearhouse's work fits together, and what to expect from each.

Personnel Due Diligence Health Check

You've started. You're just not sure what's next.

That's a common position right now, whatever sector you're in. Most firms have addressed Personnel Due Diligence somewhere in their AML/CTF program. Working out what to do about it, in practice, is usually the harder part.

A Health Check starts with a short working session with Clearhouse. Beforehand, we'll ask you to share what you've already got, your AML/CTF Program, who your Compliance Officer and Senior Manager are, any existing policies or procedures, so the session goes straight to what matters. Sessions run 90 minutes to two hours, held remotely across Australia or on-site for Sydney-based clients.

Within three business days, you’ll receive a written summary: what's working, what needs attention, and what to prioritise first, in plain language. It's an operational summary, not a compliance certification, and findings go to your AML/CTF Compliance Officer and Senior Manager for their review and adoption.

If you move forward with a full Personnel Due Diligence engagement afterwards, the Health Check fee is credited against it.

Personnel Due Diligence implementation

You know PDD needs to be built. You're just not sure how to turn the requirement into something that actually runs.

Clearhouse works with you to design and stand up your Personnel Due Diligence program end to end. That means identifying which roles are in scope, working out what screening is actually needed and for whom, building the policies and procedures your program relies on, and setting up a process your team can run without you in the room.

The engagement is scoped to your business, your sector and your size. We start with a discovery session to understand your current AML/CTF program and where PDD sits within it, then work through the build in stages, checking in with you as we go.

You come out the other end with a working program: documented, understood by the people who need to run it, and ready to show if AUSTRAC ever asks. All recommendations are reviewed and adopted by your AML/CTF Compliance Officer and Senior Manager before anything goes live.

Process & workforce integration

You've got something in place. You're just not confident it actually works the way you think it does.

This is for businesses where PDD exists on paper but hasn't been properly tested against how the business actually operates day to day. We work through what you've built, find where it breaks down in practice, and strengthen it so it holds up, not as a document, but as something your team follows without having to think twice.

We look at how PDD connects to onboarding, how trigger points are picked up when roles change, and whether the process matches what's really happening on the ground. Where it doesn't, we help you close the gap and embed the fix into the processes you already use.

You end up with a program that's not just written down, but actually running.

Existing workforce review

Your obligations don't start with your next hire.

Most businesses focus their PDD effort on new appointments and overlook the people already in designated roles. That's a gap AUSTRAC expects addressed, with no grace period for existing staff.

We start by identifying which of your current roles are in scope, then work through what's already been done, professional memberships, past checks, existing records, and what hasn't. You'll come away with a clear picture of where your existing workforce sits, and what to do next if there's work to do.

Where there's meaningful work to do, we'll set out what that looks like and how to sequence it, starting with your highest-risk roles.

Workshops & training

For industry bodies, franchise groups and larger organisations who need their people to understand Personnel Due Diligence, not just hear about it once.

We run practical sessions that walk participants through what PDD actually requires, where the common gaps sit, and what to check for in their own organisation. Sessions are pitched at the people responsible for getting PDD right, not a general compliance briefing.

Formats and length are built around your group. Get in touch to talk through what would work for your organisation.

Not sure which approach is right for you?

You don’t need to work that out before you talk to us. Book a conversation and we’ll talk through where you’re up to and whether a Health Check, implementation support or something else fits best.
